- all the rooms have access to a quiet stone terrace slightly wider
in the sunny part of the garden
- two steps of an usual height (12x40 cm) lead down to a lawn
covering the whole area of the garden
- a centered gazebo sheltering maintenance tools, is accompanied by
two hedges of taxus bacata (English yew) which underline the western
wall
- a stone pond at ground level is supplied whith water by a low
stone sculpture. It is surrounded by evergreen shrubs, and a round
mirror placed on the wall behind, reflects pond and plants to create a
mysterious atmosphere
- the existing ailanthus (tree of heaven) has been kept because it
creates a visual protection from the neighbours. It will be covered with
climbing roses
- climbing and fragrant plants are mixed on the walls with
different varieties of hedera (English ivy)
- different varieties of azalea and rhododendrons take place along
the facade between the windows
- several deciduous of evergreen shrubs or small trees are chosen
for their colors and the season of blossoming : ceanothus, cornus kousa,
viburnum, hamamelis... |
